"Rev.; of Southampton, Long Island, NY;" [1]
The Reverend Joseph Taylor appears to have been the only child of his parents. He graduated from Harvard in 1669, went to Southampton to preach where he died in 1682 at the age of 31years.
In New Haven Town Records 63 pounds 17 shillings are paid to Mr. Taylor for ministering to 1677; the next year appears, "for Mr. Taylor from the time of his coming he be paid the sum of 50 pounds per annum and then from the 1st day of May 1674 unto May 1676 which is two years 70 pounds per annum and then to March 1677 fifty pounds."
He married about Mary Bryan who after his death of, married 1690 in Southampton John Howell, Jr. Her estate from Rev Taylor was valued at 406 pds,18 sh. 8d.
