Edward was baptised on 19 May 1815 at St Mary, Lancaster: Edward born 22 Nov 1814, son of John and Hannah Taylor, Lancaster, tailor.[1] His older brother John was baptised the same day.
He married Mary Ann Stewart Higson on 2 June 1838 at St Paul, Caton, a chapelry of Lancaster. Marriage by banns, bachelor and spinster, his occupation spinner and hers, silk spinner. He was of Westhouses, Thornton, and she of Caton. His father, john Taylor, tailor, hers not stated, ?"illeg". Both marked with a cross. Witnesses were Susan Young and Flaspy Procter.[2]
