  • The 1830 Scott Co, VA census for Ira N. Pendleton (husband of Rosamond Taylor) includes one female, 15-29 & one male, 0-5. The female, assumed to be Rosamond Taylor, was born between 1811 & 1815. The male is assumed to be Rosamond's oldest child, James, born abt 1827.
  • The 1840 Scott Co, VA census for Ira N. Pendleton (husband of Rosamond Taylor) includes a female, 20-29; i.e., born 1811-1820.
  • Rosamond & Ira were supposedly married in 1830. Based on my family tree, most colonial girls were married by the time they were 18; marriages at 16 were common & common-law unions occurred when some were 15 with a few at 14 (subsequent marriages after one or two kids were born). Rosamond and Ira were married after their first two kids were born
  • Rosamond's oldest child was born abt 1827 (Conception could have occurred abt 1826). Using a conception range from 14-18 yrs of age, Rosamond could have been born as early as 1808 and as late as 1812.
  • Based on (1) the above birth date range and (2) the earliest birth date documented in the 1830 and 1840 censuses, , I have judgmentally defined the probable birth year of Taylor-7228 as "After 1811".

Taylor-18328 and Taylor-7228 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. Numerous family matches dates etc etc . Has been parked in unmerged for a couple of years

Neeley-115 and Taylor-7228 do not represent the same person because: 1.Based on 1830 & 1840 Scott Co, VA census, Taylor-7228 was born in or after 1811 & born in that portion of Russell Co. which became Scott Co.; (2) Scott County Virginia Cemetery Records, Vol 6, p.256 identifies Rosamond as d/o James N.Taylor and Sarah Carter and (3) "General Index to marriages of Scott County Virginia "Female" cites marriage - Taylor, Rosamond to Ira N. Pendleton in Book 1, Page 38, 1830
