Biography

Ida Mae Taylor was born on 2 Mar 1919[1] in Kingston, Washington, Rhode Island, USA as the first born daughter of Otis Raymond Taylor[2] and Ida Victoria Savoier LaVoice Taylor.[3][4]

  • In 1910, she was age 8 and living in Hopkinton, Washington, Rhode Island with her parents and three younger siblings, John B, Lena D and Ella C.[5]

In Jan 1920 Ida, not yet one, and her parents, Otis Raymond Taylor (21) and Ida Lavoisse (18) were living in Charlestown, Washington, Rhode Island in the home of her maternal grandparents, John and Addeline Savoier, her uncle, John Savoier (16) and four aunts, Lena, Carey, Addrenie and Pearl Savoier. Her father was working as a spinner for a wool mill.[6]

In 1930, Ida M (11) and five siblings - Dorothy A (7), John W (5), Kenneth O (2), Robert V (2) and Jean F Taylor(1), were living with their parents in North Kingstown, Washington, Rhode Island[7]

Two of her siblings were Cora Spence pf Griswold and Raymond Taylor of Rhode Island.[4]

Ida married Francis Joseph "Franc" Cassidy (1913-1972 in Beverly, Massachusetts in 1947 and divorced prior to her death.[2]

Her obituary mentioned nine children: Francis Cassidy, Pauline Clark, Robert Cassidy, Linda Butler, Ellen Bixby, Kenneth Cassidy, Henry Cassidy, Fay Fields, and Rose Earle.[4]

Ida died at age 90 on 13 Oct 2009, at the Villa Maria Nursing Home, in Plainfield, Windham, Connecticut, USA[2][1]and was placed to rest at the Pachaug Cemetery, in Griswold, New London, Connecticut. [4]

Marriage: Her name has not been found on any original marriage or divorce papers in case anyone might be able to find and add.

Could Ida L have married a McCalvin prior to her marriage to Otis Raymond Taylor?
