Biography

Ada was born in 1882 in Minnesota.[1] She was the daughter of Samuel Taylor and Eliza Wilson.

By 1900, she had moved to Vallejo in Northern California with her widowed mother and some siblings, working as a servant.[2]

She married Joseph Atticus Ladd sometime between 1900 and 1910 and had two children. At some point following his death in 1913, Joseph's parents Atticus and Mary Ladd moved to San Francisco to live with Ada and her children, according to the 1920 U.S. Census. In that Census record, Ada's occupation is listed as a department store saleswoman.[3]

Ada later remarried to Archibald Allen Abbott. She passed away in 1967 of pneumonia, living in the Mission District of San Francisco.[4]
