Biography

Susannah was a Friend (Quaker)

Susanna was born 13 Jun 1798 at Bush River, South Carolina the ninth child of Samuel and Rebecca (Furnas) Teague.[1] Her parents moved the family to Ohio in 1805.[2][3]

The marriage date of Susanna and Samuel Steddom varies by record. The Northwest Genealogical Quarterly gives the marriage to Samuel Steddom as 11 Aug 1815 at Miami Monthly Meeting, Warren County, Ohio.[4] However, the marriage date given in the Union Monthly Meeting minutes is 8 Nov 1815.[5][6] The latter appears to be the actual marriage record complete with witnesses. The earlier date at Miami meeting is more likely a marriage intention record.

The Steddom family made their home in East Turtle Creek Township, Warren County, Ohio.[7][8] She passed away 26 Apr 1871, presumably at the family home but this is uncertain. She was interred at the Friends Turtle Creek Cemetery, Warren County, Ohio.[9] Her husband Samuel passed away only eight months later.
