Marie Louise Teal's marriage record indicates she is a native of Natchitoches and the daughter of Christefore Teal and Louise Saidec. Unfortunately, her baptism record isn't found in two Natchitoches parish records sources consulted, although the baptism of two of her brothers, Christopher and Jean Baptiste are included in one.
She married Louis Fruge on 30 June 1818 at St Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana.
The family appears on both the 1850 and 1860 Censuses in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. Sometimes the ages of the children seem quite off, but the names with a few exceptions match the family well and the ages of the parents are consistent with them both being born in 1796. Louis and his wife haven't been found on the 1870 census, suggesting they may have passed away by then.
