Ellenor Malinda "Ellen" Teater was born on March 6, 1860, probably in the Iconium area near Independence, Iowa, when her father, Cyrus Newton Teater, was 34, and her mother, Susannah Jane Garber, was 33. [1]
She married John Brown Bartlett on December 7, 1879, in Appanoose County, Iowa. [2] They had four children during their marriage. A few months after they got married, they were living in Walnut and farming. [3] In 1900, they were living in Franklin, another small farming community in Appanoose County. [4] Her husband died in 1914, and in 1920 she was living with her son, James, in Sherman, Missouri. [5]
She died on January 8, 1935, in Seymour, Iowa, at the age of 74, and was buried there in the Southlawn Cemetery. [6]
