Biography

Roscoe was born in 1863. He was shown in the 1871 census at Beverly Township, Ontario.

The 1881 census at Saugeen Township showed Roscoe, 18; his parents William, 44, & Almira, 40; and a younger sister, Macella, 9; all lived at Saugeen Township, with a married couple named Kebkey.

Roscoe Teeple married Isabella Clazie in 1891 and they had 6 children.

The 1901 Canada census showed Roscoe and family at Greenock Township, Ontario.

The 1911 Canada census at Saugeen Township showed the family split onto to pages. Bad handwriting led to some names being read as "Tepple" and others on the next page as "Tuple".

First page: "Rosco Tepple", 48; "Isabel Tepple", 47; "William J. Tepple", 19; "James Tepple", 17.

Next page: "Macella Tuple", 15; "Joseph Tuple", 13; "Chester Tuple", 10; "Roy Tuple", 5.

Clearly, all of these were the Teeple family! Bad handwriting led to the name being misread.

Roscoe Teeple passed away in 1949, the exact date not found in records. He was buried at Starkvale Cemetery, Paisley, Ontario. ^[1]
