Ann was born in 1806. She is the daughter of Moses Teeter and Eleanor Cornover.
In every available record, Ann is listed as 'single' or 'spinster'. But she is believed to be the mother of Hiram Washington Teeter who is listed immediately beneath her in both the 1851 and 1861 census.[1][2]
Some Ancestry trees list Anthony Ribble of Bayham Township as Hiram's father, but there does not seem to be any solid evidence to support this. Although it is interesting to note that Ann's brother James married Helen Howell whose brother Samson Howell was married to Anthony Ribble's cousin, Sabary Ribble. And Ann's sister Rebecca married William McCraney whose family had ties to both Haldimand County and Trafalgar, Halton, where they were neighbors of William Ribble. It is believed that one of McCraney's sisters may have married John Ribble,[3] as well as two of his nieces.
Ann's brother in law, William Passmore was informant at her death in July 1871.[4]
