Biography

Malcolm was born in 1878 in Portmuck, Islandmagee, County Antrim, Ireland, the son of Hugh Templeton and Ellen Montgomery.[1]

He is a National School teacher and can be found boarding with the Wharry family (his future in-laws) in the 1901 census - house 68, Deerpark Farms, Glenarm, County Antrim.[2] He married Mary Wharry on December 27, 1904 in Buckna Presbyterian Church, Rocavan, County Antrim [3]. He is then found at house number 28 in Creevamoy, Broughshane, County Antrim with his wife Mary and three children during the 1911 census.[4]
