Hi Harold,

Regarding Job Hosford - sorry, we weren't criticising anyone here, certainly not you, so please don't take any offence. You gave an accurate account of the references you provided. No-one else has been offended either. Records of that age can be extremely difficult to corroborate.

The challenge for all of us is that there appears to be a lot of mis-information out there on various sites, with no "primary" reference sources quoted for verification.

Please see the comments I have added on the page for Job Hosford, and let me know what you think.

Best regards, Stewart

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Hi, I just worked on Susannah Greene-2329 who was just merged into a Susannah Green-23123 by Charles-1548. It caught my attention because of the reason given: Green is more common name than Greene-not a valid reason in my book. 2329 was dau of Capt. Benjamin Greene of early RI. and she should be changed back to Greene. Would you take look and hopefully you will agree.

You're probably correct. I'm in the middle of tax season and can't check it out right now but my guess is that those listed submitted information to Ancestral File. If you have time, feel free to delete them. If not, I will get to it as soon as I can. There are probably many of these!

Hi Harold, Could you please take a look at Tallman-200. A large list of names and addresses appears under Sources and appears to have come through with the GEDCOM. I suspect they should be deleted for privacy reasons but thought I would run it by you first. Thanks!

I have looked at this pending merge and have concerns about the mother of Thomas Fish. I have seen her listed as Mary Sherman and as Mary Ayers. Some say that they can find no mention of Mary Sherman in her father's will and she therefore did not exist. Others say that Mary Sherman is also known as Mary Ayers (same person). Still others show Mary Soule. Fish-34 and Fish-1539 are likely the same person as there does not seem to be another Thomas Fish born in this time period. However, there are questions about his mother that need to be solved.
