Biography

John Tenney was born on 1 July 1779 on Great Diamond Island in Casco Bay, Maine. His parents were Samuel Tenney and Elizabeth (Atwood) Tenney[1].

He married Sally Stinchfield on 3 April 1803 in Raymond, Maine[2]. They had eleven children[3]:

1. Judith, born 26 January 1804
2. Keziah, born 16 October 1805
3. Esther S., born 5 February 1808
4. Ephraim S., born 15 July 1810
5. Reuben, born 31 July 1812
6. George, born 14 March 1815
7. Job, born 14 March 1815
8. Stephen, born 19 February 1817
9. Cyrus, born 29 March 1819
10. Elizabeth A., born 1 August 1821
11. Hannah J., born 9 August 1824

John passed away on 17 September 1845 and is buried in Raymond Hill Cemetery in Raymond, Maine[4].
