They removed to Bradford, and on their letter of dismission from Maiden, were accepted into full communion with the First Congregational Church, 5 June, 1699. He served on a church committee November, 1707, with Deacon John Tenney and Deacon Bailey, to manage " that affair of calling a council as to the matter of Rev. Mr. Symmes' salary." He and John Tenney were on a " purchasing committee " (of five) to settle with the surviving heirs of Musquonomonit, Indian chief, and secured a deed for the sum of £6.10s. dated 13 January, 1701. The Indians in signing used their various marks ; one, the mark of a serpent; another, the bow and arrow; and the third, the new moon.

Philip Atwood, for £7.10s., transfers a tract of salt marsh at Plum Island in Rowley, to Samuel Tenney of Bradford, with the consent of wife Sarah. Dated 2 December, 1698. (Essex Deeds, 15 : 177.) He died 13 April, 1722, in his sixty-fourth year.
