Charles William Tenney, born in Georgetown, Mass., 4 Apr., 1844, son of Major Moses and Mary A. (Northend); married 16 Jan., 1868, Sarah Lambert DeBacon of Chelsea, Mass. A poem written by Mrs. Tenney and published is worthy the signature of our best American poets. Residence, Georgetown, Mass. He attended Dummer Academy in 1850-58. The proprietor of Tenney's express ; postmaster under President Johnson's administration, 1866-69. He served in the Fiftieth Mass. regiment; came near death from intense suffering; second lieutenant, a commission signed by Gov. John A. Andrews. Commander of Post 108 of the G.A.R,. He is a member of the Literary and Social Club.
