Moses Tenney, born in Rowley, Mass., 24 Nov. 1776-7, son of Capt. Moses and Lucy (Stickney) ; married 6 June, 1797, Hannah Whitaker from Weare, N. H., who was born 31 May, 1777. Residence, Newbury, Mass.; removed to Georgetown, Mass. A most excellent old-fashioned farmer, a good citizen, honest and upright; of a genial and kindly temperament. Mrs. Tenney was tall, thin, rather grave, speaking in a quiet tone of voice, pleasing in her close muslin cap and steel-rimmed spectacles, sitting very erect in her place at the table serving the grandchildren, who were delighted with the small green-handled knives and forks never seen elsewhere. She died 21 Sept., 1856. Mr. Tenney died in the home of his son Caleb, 18 Jan., 1859.
