Biography
Mary Tenney was born on 26 Oct 1819 in Plainfield, Otsego, New York,[1] the daughter of Levi Tenney and Mary Kingsbury.[2]
Mary married Samuel Northrup Castle, the widower of her late sister, Angeline Tenney, on 13 October 1842 in West Exeter, New York.[2][3] Their children were:[2]

- Charles Alfred Castle (born 16 Dec 1844)
- Harriet Angeline Castle (born 1 Jan 1847)
- William Richards Castle (born 19 Mar 1849)
- George Parmelee Castle (born 29 Apr 1851)
- Albert Tyler Castle (born 5 Dec 1853)
- James Bicknell Castle (born 27 Nov 1855)
- Caroline Dickinson Castle (born 15 Mar 1858)
- Helen Kingsbury Castle (born 5 Aug 1860)
- Henry Northrup Castle (born 22 Aug 1862)
She also raised her stepdaughter, Mary Tenney Castle (born 9 May 1838).
In the 1900 census Mary (age 80) was the widowed head of household in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii Territory.[4] She was the mother of 10 children and 9 were still living. She was listed with two of her children and a boarder.
She passed away on 13 Mar 1907 in Honolulu.[1][3][5] She was buried in Mission Cemetery, Honolulu.[6] Mentioned in her will dated 1903 were:[7]
