Biography

James Tenny was born at Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, August 15, 1650, to Thomas and Ann (Mighill) Tenney. [1] [2] [3]

James Tenney and Abigail Lambert married at Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, October 3, 1684. [1] [2]

James was involved in King Philip's war, under the command of Captain Whipple of Ipswich, Mass., and again at Fort Edwards, New York, under Captain Pearson.[4]

James was a large real estate mover, as given in many deeds recorded in Essex Deeds. [4]

James and Abigail had seven children born in Rowley, Massachusetts: [1] [4]

  • Abigail, born on December 12, 1688; baptized on December 26, 1688.
  • John, born on April 6, 1692; baptized on April 10, 1692.
  • Hannah, b. 4 Apr., 1695.

  • Benjamin, b. 26 Jan., 1703-4; bapt. 30 Jan., 1703-4
  • Philip, b. 25 Nov., 1706
