Name: Benjamin Franklin TENNIS Surname: Tennis Given Name: Benjamin Franklin Sex: M Birth: 26 Mar 1845 in Drumore Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. Death: 1930 in Drumore Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa.

Civil War veteran. The son of Israel & Elizabeth (Lukens) Tennis, in 1860 he was a farm laborer living with his family in Drumore Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He stood 5' 6-1/2" tall and had dark hair and blue eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted and mustered into federal service at Lancaster August 1, 1864, as a private with Co. H, 11th Pennsylvania Cavalry (108th Pa). Wounded at the battle of Five Forks, Virginia, April 1, 1865, he was hospitalized and discharged by surgeon's certificate per general order May 8, 1865.

He married Lucinda Lamborn December 24, 1869, in Fernglen, Lancaster County, and fathered Cynthia (b. 02/03/73) and Elizabeth M. (b. 12/09/76). Cause of death is listed as "chronic myocarditis." From Member 47232334.
