Biography

David Leonard Tennison was born on June 25, 1920, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the son of David Winn Tennison and Gladys Musgrove. He married Elizabeth E. Brown about 1940. They had two children during their marriage

David served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was listed as "wounded in action". He later worked as a mechanic in the city of Memphis.

He died on March 4, 1997, in his hometown at the age of 76, and was buried there.

Dave Leonard Tennyson, 76, of Memphis, retired service manager for Schilling Motors, died of heart failure Tuesday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Elmwood.

He served with the 6th Marine Division during World War II. He was a member of Central Church. Mrs. Tennyson, the widower of Elizabeth Brown Tennyson, leaves two daughters, Barbara Krouse and Lynn Moore, and a sister, Gladys Morrison, all of Memphis; a brother, Jack Tennyson of Gretna, La., three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.
