Biography

John Tenney, named as son in the 1593 will of Thomas Tenney, was baptized April 1567, at Great Limber, Lincolnshire, England. [1]

He married Ursula Mumby/Mumbie 29 October 1599, at Brocklesby, Lincolnshire. She was buried at Great Limber, 4 April 1642.[1]

John was a husbandman. He also served as churchwarden in 1595, 1607 and 1614, and possibly 1636.[1]

In 1629, he provided a house for John Jacklyn, wife Ursula and their children, and pledged himself and his heirs, to provide enough so that they would not be a burden to the town.[1]

He was the administrator of the will of his sister Alice Tenney; an appraiser of the estate of John Mumby, of Brocklesby (he signed the inventory with his mark.)[1]

After Ursula died, John moved to Riby with his son John. He was buried 30 Oct 1644, in Riby, Lincolnshire, England.[1]
