1819 Birth

Horatio Tennyson was the son of George Clayton Tennyson and Elizabeth Fytch he was born about 1819 in Somersby Lincolnshire.[1]

Emigration to Australia

Horation Tennyson a younger brother of the poet Alfred Tennyson. Emigrated to Australia briefly, where he lost his inheritance in an abortive scheme to make his living by farming. Returned to Lincolnshire, where he lived with his mother until he married. [2]

1899 Death


MR. HORATIO TENNYSON. London, October 4. 1899 The death is announced of Mr Horatio Tennyson, the youngest brother of the late Poet Laureate, and uncle .of the present Lord Tennyson, Governor of South Australia. The deceased was born in 1819 and was therefore eighty years of age.[3]
