Jacob Teerpenning was a son of Jacob Teerpening and Mareytje Beem. He was baptized in the Reformed Dutch Church of New Paltz, New York, on 2 August 1757, recorded as the child of Jacob Teerpenning and Mareytje Beem. The "DeGroff's and Related Families" online genealogy cites the baptism record, but also indicates (without explaining the evidence) that Jacob was born on 25 April 1755.[1]
