Biography

Winford Terrell is a part of US Black heritage.

Winford was born March 20, 1894 or 1895 (see Research Notes) in Hughes Springs, Texas, United States. His parents were Robert Terrell and Rachel (Willis) Terrell.

Winford married Della Allen October 3, 1916 in Cass County, Texas, United States^[1] and they had at least two children (see Research Notes).

Winford registered for the World War I draft June 5, 1917 in Cass County, Texas, United States. He was of medium height and build with black eyes and hair.^[2]

In 1920, the family's last name was shown as Terrill. Winford (age 24) and Della (age 20) lived at 9M Cusutu Road in Cass County, Texas, United States with daughter Allie (age 2). Winford was a farmer.^[3]

In 1930, Winford (shown as Winfred, age 35) and Della (age 34) lived at Livingston and Kountye Roads in Polk County, Texas, United States with childrenn Allie (age 12) and Raymond (age 10). Winford was a laborer in a lumber mill and Della was a cook for a private family.^[4]

In 1940, the family's last name was shown as Terral. Winford (shown as Winnfred, age 40) and Della (age 40) lived west of the Southern Pacific Railroad in Polk County, Texas, United States with son Raymond (age 18). Wonford and Raymond were laborers for the WPA and Della was a housekeeper in a private home.^[5]
