Thomas Terry, Jr. was born December 4, 1761, in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Thomas was residing in Powhatan County, Virginia, at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Thomas enlisted as a Private in Captain Martin Helly's company, under the command of Colonel Armstrong, and later Colonel Bulford and Colonel Charles Porterfield. [1]
Thomas Terry is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A215442. DAR records indicate that Thomas died in December, 1838, in Montgomery County, Kentucky and that his wife's name was Mary Milam. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their son, Enoch Terry, who married Mary Letton Prather. [2]
