I was taking a look at your colonial civil servants page, and I must say you are doing an amazing job! The sheer amount of work that has gone into your project... wow! I just wanted to say that as I was taking a look at the list of governor-generals, one name stood out to me, and that was Laurens Reael, who governed from 1616-1619. The reason the name stood out is because I am the manager of Jacobus Arminius' profile (a Dutch minister, theologian, and the father of Arminianism) and his father-in-law's is Laurens Jacobsz Reael! So I had a look, and it's Lauren Jacobsz' son, also named Laurens, who was the govrnor-general. We zijn heel blij om te zien dat je nog steeds actief bent op WikiTree en dat je ook bezig bent met Nederlandse Profielen. We zouden graag met elkaar een nieuwe impuls willen geven aan het Dutch Roots Project om Nederlanders binnen WikiTree beter op de kaart te zetten. Het Dutch Roots Project heeft al meer dan 50.000 profielen onder beheer en in totaal zijn er al meer dan 500.000 Nederlandse profielen op WikiTree Binnen dit project houden we ons bezig met het bewaken van de kwaliteit van deze Nederlandse profielen en anderen te helpen daarmee. We zouden naast deze taken ook andere zaken willen oppakken, maar hiervoor hebben we meer vrijwilligers nodig. Daarom deze vragen aan jou:

1) Heb je interesse om mee te helpen als vrijwilliger bij het Dutch Roots Project? 2) Zo ja, gaat je voorkeur uit naar een specifieke taak binnen het Dutch Roots Project? (denk bijvoorbeeld aan vertalen, sourcen etc of iets anders dat je zou willen aanpakken.)

Wij hopen dat je ons een reactie wilt sturen en voel het niet als een verplichting om iets te gaan doen. Wij willen alleen een inventarisatie maken van wie we kunnen vragen om ons te helpen met bepaalde activiteiten.

Thanks for creating well sourced pre-1700 profiles like Harmen (Jansen) van 't Vlie (bef.1696-).

Please try to provide at least a birth or death location estimate rather than leaving both locations blank. This helps disambiguate people since we have a global tree, locations help distinguish one profile of the same name from another. Even an estimate such as a continent, e.g., Europe or North America, is better than blank. Please read more here. You can explain the rationale for your estimate in a = = Research Notes = = section.

For example, in the case of Harmen, his son is born in the Netherlands, so lacking any other evidence, it is likely that Harmen was also born in the Netherlands, so that would be a reasonable estimate that can be marked as uncertain and explained in the research notes.

Please let me know if you need help or clarification on any of this.

Ik weet niet of je 't al gevonden hebt maar je bent natuurlijk van harte welkom bij ons Dutch Roots/Netherlands Project, waarvoor je je hier kunt aanmelden. En ik zie toevallig dat je ook interesse hebt in Indonesië ? We hebben in 2017 een Indonesië project gestart maar dat is tot nu toe, vooral door een gebrek aan leden uit Indonesië of leden die er echt interesse in hadden, nooit echt van de grond gekomen, dus als je interesse of ideeën hebt is het misschien wel iets voor jou ?

Groetjes en ik heb helaas nogal wat problemen met mijn mail, dus gewoon een post op mijn profiel is 't handigst tegenwoordig.
