Biography

Silas Terwilliger was born on 9 July 1815 in Shawangunk[1]. Jemima Jane Wilklow and Silas Terwilliger were married on 3 September 1839 at Low Dutch Church of Kleyn Esopus in Ulster Park, NY.[2] He died on 29 March 1887.[3] Silas was buried at Ulster Park Community Cemetery in Ulster Park, NY.
Jemima Jane Wilklow and Silas Terwilliger had the following children:
  1. Rachel C. Terwilliger was born about 1843 in New York State.
  2. Huldah J. Terwilliger was born about 1846 in New York State.
  3. Hiram S. Terwilliger was born on 1 December 1847 in Esopus, Ulster Co., NY. He was married to Elizabeth Maria Low who was born on 15 March 1844.
  4. Abraham T. W. Terwilliger was born on 10 August 1849 in New York State. He died on 20 July 1874. He was buried at Ulster Park Community Cemetery in Ulster Park, NY. He married Susan Terpenning who was born in 1841. She died in 1918. She was buried at Ulster Park Community Cemetery in Ulster Park, NY.
  5. Cassandra T. Terwilliger was born in May 1850 in New York State. She died on 4 March 1924 in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY. She was buried at New Paltz Rural Cemetery in New Paltz, Ulster Co., NY. Cassandra T. Terwilliger and Robert I. Benjamin were married on 2 October 1865 at New Paltz Reformed Church in New Paltz, NY. Robert I. Benjamin was born in January 1845. He died on 4 March 1930 in Hyde Park, Dutchess Co., NY. He was buried at New Paltz Rural Cemetery in New Paltz, NY.
  6. Isaac D. Terwilliger was born about 1852 in New York State.
  7. David J. Terwilliger was born about 1854.
  8. James P. Terwilliger was born about 1857 in New York State.
  9. Martha Ann Terwilliger born about 1859 in New York State. She was married to John J. Dubois
