Obituary of Amy Catherine Collins.

Amy Catherine Terwilliger was born 9 July 1878 at Riverton, Iowa to George W and Clarisa Himes Terwilliger.

She was united in marriage to Elmer Warren Collins on December 29, 1898. They established their home on a farm near Champion and lived there until about 1905. At that time they moved of Oklahoma. In the year 1917 they returned to Imperial and made their home here.

Five children were born to this union of Amy and Elmer Collins. They were Lloyd, Bertha, Hilma, Elmer and Glenn.

Amy was preceeded in death by her husband, Elmer, a son Lloyd; a daughter, Hilma Brewer; six brothers; and three sisters. Left to mourn her passing are three children, Bertha Bernard of Gardena, California, Elmer of Denver, Colo., and Glenn of Nevada; one brother, Oscar Terwilliger; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. died August 12, 1969 having attained the age of 91 years, one month and three days.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m., August 14 at the Imperial United Methodist church with Rev. Glen Davis officiating. Escorts were Ralph Browning, Charles Browning, Jack Browning, Fern Collins, Wilmer McConell and Don McConnel. Interment was at Mount Hope Cemetery. Creveling Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

Relatives from away attending the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Collins and Eddie of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Bertha Bernard of Gardena, Calif., Mrs. Iva Gerver of St Francis, Ka., her daughter, Viola of Goodland, Ka., Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gerver of Bird City, Ka.

Mrs. and Mrs. Willy Terwilliger and son from Stratton, and two granddaughters from Okla. and Mr. and Mrs. William Stoutimore of Ogallala. 1

On Lloyd H. Collins birth certificate the place of birth for his mother Amy Terwilliger is listed as Ringold, Iowa. 1
