My family were suppose to come from Orkney, I cam only go back as far as Glasgow, to Robt Craigie1756 - 1820. By the names of his children His Father's name would have been Francis. Just thought I might break a brick wall. Yours sincerely, Daisy Craigie.
Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, try a different one. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.
Let me know if you have any questions, and have fun!

DNA is not my strong point, you will need to add a mtDNA test on the DNA page if one has been taken, mtDNA is passed from mother to son or daughter. It will only populate that one mother line (i.e. your mother, grandmother which is her mother,
I hope this helps, any problems please let me know

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz. As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project is essential
Please ensure a location is entered on all profiles and data matches dates of profile. Avoid abbreviations, add sources with citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources
The United States Project would be of interest. Adding the tag UNITED_STATES will connect you
Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus.

Please add locations to profiles. Also note a family tree is not a source it is a starting point.

Click here to start with our New Member How To Pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have. You never know when you will find a lost family member or ancestor. Or maybe find a hidden family secret about an ancestor. Genealogy to me is like being a detective looking for clues into the past.
Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to help!

There isn't a way to get them all dumped in but there is a short cut that can help get a full family in at one time. When you're on a Compare screen and all the suggestions have been either matched or rejected, records which do not have WikiTree profiles will have an Add button. Clicking the add button will open the Add Profile screen and populate the form with all your data so that you don't have to type it. It also gives you a chance to adjust your data. Things you might want to adjust are cleaning up imported notes, etc. We have found that it is much faster to do the adjustments at the point of profile creation than after the fact when you want to move on to new research.
As you work with you records, you may discover clues that you had missed, make connections or find duplicates that hadn't turned up before, or realize that a citation is missing here or there for a specific piece of information. At least, that's what happened for me. I also discovered that seven of my 16 great-great-grandparents already had profiles created by family members, some of whom I was aware and a couple that were completely new to me.
I hope this answers your question. If not, please let me know.
