Biography

Homer Stanley Tesdell was born 28 August 1908 at Slater, Iowa, the son of Carl Tesdahl and Mabel Tesdahl. He was baptized on 1 November 1908 and confirmed on 12 November 1922, both at the Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley, Iowa. He graduated from Alleman High School in 1928. He married Mary Campbell on 25 November 1931 at South Sioux City, Nebraska. He worked for the Central National Bank until he retired in September 1973. Homer and Mary moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1998. Homer died on 2 January 2002.

Homer Tesdell

Homer Stanley Tesdell, 93, of New Orleans died of a heart ailment Tuesday at home. Private services will be held in New Orleans, with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Mr. Tesdell was born in Huxley and had lived in Des Moines 71 years before moving to New Orleans in 1998. He was a retired assistant vice president of Central National Bank, a member of Masons and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and a past member of Windsor Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by a son, Donald of Slidell, La.; a brother, Ronald of Madrid; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.

Homes [sic] S. Tesdell, a banker with Central National Bank, died Wednesday at Chateau de Notre Dame. He was 93. Mr. Tesdell was a native of Huxley, Iowa, and lived in New Orleans for the past seven months. He was a member of the Shriners. Survivors include a son, Don Tesdell of Slidell; a brother, Ronald Tesdell of Madrid, Iowa; and two grandchildren. A private service and burial were held. McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home handled arrangements.
