This Leo George Tessier is the one born in 1912 to George Elliott Tessier and Julia Marquis (Tessier). This Leo George Tessier married Dorothy Mae Hatstat and raised a family of seven children. He is not the Leo George Tessier born in 1910 and who married an Eva LaViolette or any derivation on that name.

The 1920 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Leo G. at the age of 7yrs old and given as born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Leominster at 15 Sixth St. with his 32yr old father, George Tessier, his 34yr old mother, Julia and his three siblings; 9yr old Wilfred E., 5yr old Annie J. G. and 11-month old Archie E.[2]
The 1930 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Leo at the age of 14yrs old and given as a "belt boy in a shirt factory" born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Leominster at 224 Mechanic St. with his 41yr old father, George Tessier, his 42yr old mother, Julia and his four siblings; 20yr old Wilfred, 15yr old Annie, (I believe ages of Leo and Annie are miss-placed one for the other), 11yr old Archie and 8yr old Melvin.[3]
The 1940 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Leo Tessier at the age of 28yrs old and given as a "truck driver for a retail coal dealer" born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Leominster in a dwelling he is renting for $12 a month at 4 Allen Ct. with his 23yr old wife, Dorothy and their five children; 7yr old Loraine (sic), 5yr old Leo, Jr., 4yr old Donald, 3yr old Marylou and 4-month old John, (age of John difficult to decipher and may be something else. Allen Court no longer exists in Leominster.[4]
NOTE: From profile manager; my mother, the Loraine (sic Lorraine) above told me that the family lived on the fourth floor, they had little money; see my grandmother Dorothy having five children at the age of 23yrs old. MJP.
The 1950 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Leo G. Tessier at the age of 38yrs old and given as an ice plant foreman born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Leominster on Leominster Boulevard with his 33yr old wife, Dorothy and their seven surviving children; 17yr old Lorraine, 15yr old Leo G. Jr., 14yr old Donald E., 13yr old Marylou E., 9yr old Penelope H., 4yr old Bernadette and 2yr old Peter. Leominster Boulevard was near Lake Samoset and Overlook Drive.[5]
Profile Manager's note: According to my mother Lorraine (Tessier) Pavilaitis, they were living in a tin shed dragged from North Leominster to this sight. Best I can understand it must have been something like a quonnsett hut.
