Biography

Mary J. Thacker was born in in Wayne County, West Virginia a daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Thacker. In 1860 she was 8 years old and resided with her parents in Wayne County. [1]


Mary J. Thacker(age 18, born Wayne County, Virginia the daughter of Daniel & May Thacker) on 21 April 1870 in Wayne County, West Virginia married Leander Ward (age 20, born Wayne County, Virginia the son of H. & ~ Ward). The marriage ceremony was performed by R.A. Billups.[2]

The 1880 census shows the family in the Ceredo District (lying on the West side of Twelve Pole Creek), Wayne County, West Virginia.[3]

Mary Jane Ward died on 30 May 1930 in Cabell County, West Virginia. She was the wife of Leander Ward and daughter of Daniel Thacker and Betty Cyrus.[4]
