He married Rachel Shepherd on 18 January 1894 in Clark County, Kentucky.[2]
Lew and Rachel were the parents of two children. Rachel passed away before the 1900 census was enumerated.[3]
Lewis married a second time on 11 January 1901 to Ida D Estep who was a widow with one child. They were living in Tollesboro, Lewis County, Kentucky.[4][5]
