Biography

James Tharp was born 17 Nov 1803 in Montgomery County, Ohio. son of Jehu Tharp and Rebecca Ann Smith.

He married Rebecca Ann "Anna" (Howard) (1810-1847) on 2 May1827 in Wayne County, Indiana. (His name in the transcription was James Sharp, an oft-made mistake) [1]

In 1880 he was living in the household of his son John H. Tharp in Pipe Creek Twp, Madison County, Indiana. [2]

James died Mar 14, 1888 in Madison County, Indiana and was buried in Pipe Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana in Howard Cemetery, Frankton, Madison County, Indiana, Aged 84 Yrs. 3 Mos. 26 Dys.[3]
