Biography
Josiah Thayer was born[1] Nov 13, 1713, at Braintree, Massachusetts, the son of Nathaniel and Relief (Hyde) Thayer. The references list his birthdate as November 31; as November has only 30 days, it has been assumed that either Bates or the Braintree town clerk incorrectly entered "13" as "31."
Josiah was married first[2] Apr 20, 1743, in Braintree, Massachusetts, by Rev. Mr. Elisha Eaton, to Mary Veazie, the daughter of Samuel and Deborah (Wales) Veazie.
Josiah married (or intention recorded) second[3] about Jul, 1762, Rebecca Hunt. Rebecca was born[4] in Braintree, Massachusetts, Aug 11, 1735, the daughter of Lt. John and Rebecca (Allen) Hunt.
Josiah was alive[5] in 1774.
