Pierre was born about 1684 to Claude Thériot and Marie Gautrot.
In 1686, at Port Royal, Pierre, aged 2, was living with his parents, Claude TERRIOT [sic], aged 49, and Marie GOTRO [sic], aged 49, and his seven siblings: Jean, aged 18, Anne, aged 14, Jeanne, aged 12, Claude, aged 8, Marie, aged 7, Magdelaine [sic], aged 5, and Elisabet [sic], aged 1. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 13 arpents of cultivable land with 8 cattle and 6 sheep.[1]

In the 1686 census at Port Royal, Thériot was listed as Terio and transcribed as Terriot, Gautrot was listed as Gotrot, Madeleine was listed as Magdelaine, and Elisabeth was listed as Elisabet.
