Biography

Mimi Theviot was born in Brainerd, Minnesota where her father was in the wholesale liquor business with his brother.[1] Her parents moved back to Saint Paul, Minnesota, when she was about two or three years old. When she was four, her mother married a second time to Saint Paul businessman George Koehler.[2] Mimi grew up and attended school in St. Paul.[3][4]After her father died, Mimi's mother went to court to establish legal guardianship of her daughter, perhaps to claim the assets of Mimi's late father.[5]

The Koehler family was involved in social activities in the city and their social engagements were noted in the Saint Paul Globe newspaper. Mimi married Alfred Yoerg in St. Paul when she was 25 years old.[6] The marriage may have ended between 1911 and 1912 when Alfred moved out of his in-laws home at 805 Portland Ave., in St. Paul and back to his parents home. [7]

Mimi moved to Los Angeles and married C. Theodore Kerr in 1923. [8]They were living in Los Angeles in 1930.[9]

Her mother was living with Mimi and her husband when she died in 1935. Mimi and Theodore were living in Glendale in 1940.[10]

Mimi was divorced some time before her death from cancer at age 67. She had been employed in clerical work for an airplane company and living in Burbank. Her sister Adeline provided information for her death certificate. [11][12] She is interred at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, in Hollywood, California.[13]
