Jean Baptiste Thibaudault was born October 5, 1723, in Port Royal, Acadia, to parents Michel Thibodeau and Agnès Dugas, daughter of Charles and of Marie Landry. He was baptized at birth by François Michel and ceremonies took place 17 Oct 1723 at Port Royal. His godparents were François Forest and Marguerite Bourgois, daughter of Guillaume Bourgois.[1][2][3]

Jean-Baptiste married Marie Josephe Lanoue, daughter of Charles Lanoue and Marie-Josephte Landry, on February 5, 1748, at Annapolis Royal, Acadia. [4]

The family was deported to South Carolina in 1755.

He died sometime before 1763 and Marie-Josèphe was married to Jean-Baptiste Cormier, also a deportee in South Carolina, and widower of Marie-Josèphe Hugon. [3][6] On August 12 1763, Marie-Josèphe and her 2nd husband Jean-Baptiste Cormier appeared on a census in South Carolina with 4 children from both marriages:[7]
