Biography

Marie Rose (Thibodeau), was born April 8 1710 and was baptized June 8, 1710, in Port Royal, Acadie. [1] She married Jean Blanchard, in 1733. They had a daughter, Marie Angelique (Blanchard), wife of Charles Pitre. Also Anne Marie (b 1734), Jean Baptiste and Anne (b 1741).

In at least 1752-1755 she and Jean lived in Chipoudy along with her sister Marguerite, brother Olivier, sisters Catherine Josephe and Ursule and brother Pierre together with their spouses.[2] [3] After 1755 they escaped the roundups by the British soldiers by seeking refuge either on Isle Saint-Jean or at Camp d'Espérance on the Miramichi. [3]

The family finally found a permanent home in Canada, Nouvelle-France. Around 3 August 1757, the family was aboard a ship that left Miramichi with 182 passengers, and disembarked at the port of Québec around 18 August 1757. Travelling with Jean and Marie-Rose were their children Marie-Anne, Anastasie, François, and Marie-Josèphe, and also Marie-Rose's mother Anne-Marie Aucoin, widow of Pierre Thibodeau. [4]

Marie Rose (Thibodeau) Blanchard died 21 Nov 1757 in Quebec city, Canada. [5]
