Françoise Thibodeau was born towards the end of the "Great Upheaval," in 1762 in Nova Scotia. Her parents were Acadians Pierre Thibodeau and Françoise Sonnier. For her to have been born there and then, her parents must have been imprisoned at Halifax. They immigrated to Spanish Louisiana.
Pierre Thibodeau is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 6 Left. Listed with him is his wife, Francoise Saulnier, and four children: Adelaide, Francoise, Anne Marie, and Marie Josephe.
