Louis Adolphe Thiers was born on 26 Germinal, year 5 (April 15, 1797) in the house at 15, rue des Petits-Pères (now rue Thiers) in Marseille. He was the son of Marie Madeleine Amic, unmarried, and Pierre Louis Marie Thiers[1]. His parents married one month later, on 24 Floréal year 5 (May 13, 1797) in Marseille[2].
