Biography

Elisabeth was born on the 12th and baptised on the 18th, which is the date the NRS have used for their files. This profile uses the correct date. Elisabeth lived in a close community of fishers and seafarers and singlehandedly she raised her three daughters working (according to the census records from 1851-1881 as Fisherwomen and Fish Sales Woman and finally as Retired Fisherwoman and able to live on her own means. Her death record says she was 90 years old when she died, but she was in fact 87.
