In 1860 he is living with wife Nancy in Missouri. They traveled with 10 children from Kentucky to Missouri, just two years earlier, in 1858. [1]

In 1870, James, Nancy, John, Virginia and Charlott, age 5 are on the US Census for Missouri. Nancy would have been 43 when she had her 12th child, or Charlott is a grandchild. No other adult is living in the household, so it is most likely their daughter and not granddaughter.[2]

In 1880 he and Nancy are 62, have John and two granddaughter's living with them in Camden Ray Co, Missouri. It states his parents were from Pennsylvania, but that needs more research. [3]
