According to the census returns for 1851 and 1861, Thomas Thomas was born in Letterston, around about 1801, as yet I have not tracked down a baptism. We have a marriage of Thomas Thomas to Sophia Perry in 1822 at the parish church of Little Newcastle, which is the adjoining parish of St Dogwells and Letterston. This marriage fits the bill for several reasons, the timing is about right, Sophia Perry is from Dinas, and she is the only Sophia Perry I have found up to date that matches. The couple first appear on census return for St Dogwells parish in 1841, at a place called Wine. I think the address, got lost in the translation, because St Dogwells is a Welsh speaking area, and the enumerator, may have had difficulty with the place name. The couple are living at the family home with six children, these are, Martha (b 1829) David (b 1833) Hendry (welsh form of Henry, born 1834), Benjamin (b 1837) Thomas (b 1839) and Ebenezer (b 1842) all of whom were born in St Dogwells. In 1861 Thomas and Sophia are still in St Dogwells parish and their address is entered as the Castle. With them at the address is Benjamin, Thomas and Ebenezer. By 1861 Thomas and Sophia are alone at the family home, the children have all moved out. From this point onwards I appear to have lost contact with the couple. I do know that they are buried at Camrose Baptist chapel. And their graves are next to that of Benjamin Stuart Rees, their grandson.
