Biography

Alma Sarah Ellen Holmes was born in the Bundarra district of NSW in 1904.^[1] She was the daughter of Edward Alfred Thomas and Edith Alice Thomas.

She married William Henry Holmes at the Leichhardt Congregational Church on the 19th of March, 1938.^[2]

She died at her home in Haberfield, NSW, on the 23rd of November, 1961, following a stroke.^[3][4]

4. ↑ Church newsletter clipping: We extend out love and sympathy to Mr. Holmes, Pam and Gwen in the sudden passing last week of Mrs. Holmes. After suffering a stroke on Tuesday which paralysed all one side she quietly passed to her Lord in her sleep at home about 8.30 Thursday evening. Mrs. Holmes has always been a very hard and faithful worker in Ladies Fellowships, Sunday school and other avenues of service. The funeral service yesterday was conducted by Rev. E. Long. Let us pray for all loved ones in their time of need and seek the Lord's comfort and grace upon them.
