Walter was born November 15, 1877.^{[1] [2]}

He is the son of John Thomas and Louisianna Tankersley.

On Aug 22, 1900, Walter married Albertine Overstreet in Morgan County, Alabama. ^[3]

He died October 5, 1936. He is buried at Red Oak Grove Cemetery in Somerville, Alabama. ^[1][4]

Find A Grave ^[1] gives his middle name as "Marion". Is that correct? Is there a source for that?
