Nancy was born in 1838. She was the daughter of Jesse Thomas and Rhoda Jackson. Nancy appears on the 1850 census as a 14 year old in the household of her father, Jesse Thomas, and her step-mother, Sarah Crawford Thomas. [1]
Nancy married William T. Hamby 1 September 1861 in Franklin County, Georgia. [2]In 1871 Nancy and W.T. Hamby took their family from Franklin County, Georgia to Gregg County, Texas. They traveled by covered wagon, crossed rivers by barges and traveled by train at the end of their journey. There was a large group of Thomas family along with other families and friends who made this journey.
She passed away on 15 September 1873 in Gregg County, Texas at the age of 35. [3]
