The wife of Lewis E. Thomas was Sophia Elizabeth (Dixon) Thomas, b. 4 September 1828 in Frederick County, Maryland. She died 24 May 1904 in Frederick County, Maryland. She is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland in Lot L, row 81, plot 3. Her parents were James M. Dixon b. about 1790 in Maryland, d. 25 May 1835 "in his 45th year" in Frederick County, Maryland. Her mother was Sophia (Erter) Dixon, b. 12 April 1794 in Frederick County, Maryland and died 5 August 1854 in Frederick County, Maryland.
