Thomas Thomas was born between 1811[1]-1817[2] in Oxford[2], Maryland[1]. He was the child of Sophia[1] Giles[2] and Joseph Thomas[2][3].

My name is Thomas Thomas. I am 72 years old; I live at no. 34 Auburn St. and keep a restaurant at no. 59 Washington St. Springfield Mass[achusetts]. I have lived in this city nearly 44 years.[4]

Activism

He, John Brown, Beverly C. Downing, and others in Springfield, Massachusetts formed the League of Gileadites, an anti-slavery militia.[2] The group aided freedom seekers who'd escaped slavery, and resisted attempts by enslavers and kidnappers to recapture them.
