Biography

Melancthon was born in 1807. He was the son of Adna Thomas and Lois Beckwith. Jane Lumbly obtained the permission of her father, Thomas Lumbly, to marry "Melanton" Thomas on 7 Nov 1832. [1] A license and permisssion to marry was issued 9 Nov 1832 by the State of Illinois. [2] The wedding was performed on 15 Nov 1832 in Pike County, Illinois. [3]He was living in Illinois in 1840, with his wife and one son.[4] He passed away about 1860.
